Robert James Schellenger

On January 3, 2024, the world lost a remarkable soul as Robert J. Schellenger, a spirited 46-year-old from Mercer, PA, bid farewell at his home. Born on May 3, 1977, in Ashtabula, OH, to the dynamic duo of Debra and Michael Schellenger Sr., Robert carved his niche as a skilled tradesman, dedicating his career to the art of construction.

Beyond the blueprints and building blocks, Robert was a hands-on maestro, finding joy in revving up his car engines and fixing anything within his reach. He wasn’t just a fixer-upper; he was the heart and soul of home repairs, a true handyman with a toolbox of love.

An enthusiast of aquatic adventures, Robert’s eyes sparkled brightest when he was on his boat, cruising through the waters he adored. His journey through life found a steadfast companion in Tina K. Smoak Schellenger, whom he lovingly married on September 9, 2000.

In the tapestry of his life, Robert leaves behind a legacy woven with love and memories. His memory is etched in the hearts of his wife, Tina, their children Chris, Katie, and Bobbi Jean, and the laughter of grandchildren Ja’Vonte Colleton and Grayson Ader. He also leaves a trail of camaraderie in the hearts of siblings Wendy Fetherolf, Michael Schellenger Jr., and Crystal Schellenger.

Robert’s final curtain call was preceded by the passing of his parents and one sister, Stephanie Schellenger. Now, as we bid him adieu, let us remember the man who turned the mundane into extraordinary.
