Mary Ella (Smith) Cupps

Mary E. Cupps, 89, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024. Mary was born to
the late Harry and Esther (Mickley) Smith on March 3, 1935 at their home.

Mary married the love of her life, Howard Cupps, on July 2, 1955, and was by his side until he
preceded him in death in March of 2019.

A crafty woman in her early years, Mary enjoyed sewing and expressing herself through her
crafting and her artwork. Mary loved being around people, especially those closest to her. From
family gatherings to just going out on a drive, Mary loved every second of family time she could.
She also had a special spot in her heart for her feline friends. Cats helped Mary through a great
deal of hard times and she loved them greatly. Mary will be greatly missed and her memories
will live on in the minds of those who knew her, forever.

Mary is survived by two sons: Mark (Dawn) Cupps and Shawn Cupps. Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law Julie. Mary has one surviving
sister, Carol Walker. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren: Brett, Haley, Shelby, Mandy,
Melissa, Lexie, Devin, and Tori; and her great-grandchildren: Raven, Lilie, and Levi.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as a brother, Paul Smith, a
sister, Ruth Young, and a son, Richard S Cupps.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation and Funeral Center,
Inc., 200 S. Erie St, Mercer, PA.
