Grace Anna Boggs, 73 of Worth Twp, Stoneboro, passed away on February 23, 2023 at Grove Manor in Grove City. Grace Anna was born in Ellwood City on December 18, 1949 to the late Charles and Anna (Manchor) Howell. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock University earning her Bachelors Degree and Kutztown University earning her Masters Degree. She worked for many years as a school teacher and librarian in Pottstown, PA before returning to western PA. After discovering her ability to sell, she worked for several area radio stations including a stint as General Manager. In 1987, Grace Anna established G.A. Boggs & Associates advertising company, which she started from scratch and would become her lifelong work, which only closed in March of 2022 as her health failed. For many years she handled advertising for many area businesses. In January 1998 she and her husband purchased the Mercer Mercantile & Soda Shop in Mercer. This was a favorite stop for old fashioned candy and ice cream for generations of local children. Her theme for the shop was "Slow Down For A Memory". Grace Anna Truly loved the shop and put her heart and soul into running it, always greeting customers with her well known wide smile. She helped many people in the community, often helping employees with their personal finances. Grace Anna Loved everything she did and every job she had, always giving 110% and going 100 mph. Her son Jonathan Douglas Boggs was the apple of her eye and she watched with pride as he excelled at sports and grew into a fine man. She was a wonderful mother. A kind friend once said that "Grace Anna was aptly named, because she truly was a woman of grace". Grace Anna often remarked in recent months that "It's A Beautiful Day" and as she embraced the Lord in Heaven, Grace Anna surely said "It's a Beautiful Day" Grace Anna was a very active 20+ year member of the Mercer Rotary International, serving as president twice, and a sustaining Paul Harris Fellow. She served as Assistant Governor, District Trainer, and District Public Image chair for Rotary District 7280. She also attended 4 Rotary International Conferences. She was also a Director of Penn Woods West - Mercer, Victorian Weekend, and many other arts and crafts festivals. She ran for Mercer County Commissioner, and was a super trainer for Mary Kay. Grace Anna was also a longtime member of the Hendersonville United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer and was a very active member. She married her beloved husband, Richard A. Boggs, on December 2, 1972 at the First Christian Church in Ellwood City, he survives at home. They met in the old Maltby Library at Slippery Rock University in January 1970 when Rick picked up Grace Annas pencil. Their marriage included world travel in Alaska, Bermuda, England and France. Grace Anna was a remarkable woman. She is further survived by her son: Jonathan Douglas (Danni) Boggs of Bellevue, three step-grandchildren, sisters: Denise Howell-Longello of Baden, PA & Paris, France, and Darlene Howell of Irwin, PA, a niece: Morgane (Tom) Evans of Moon Twp, a nephew: Michael Longello of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 2 pm - 4 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023 A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the funeral home with the Pastor Janet Pratt, officiating. Private interment will take place in Hendersonville Cemetery. Memorials in Grace Annas name can be made to the family to establish scholarships at local schools in her name and various charities and organizations she supported throughout her long career The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Grove Manor for their exceptional care of Grace Anna.
