David M. Miller

David M. Miller, 83 of S. Pymatuning Twp, Jamestown, passed away on October 23, 2022 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville. He was born in Mercer on March 24, 1939 to the late Donald C. and Vivian (Roberts) Miller. He was a graduate of Mercer High School, Thiel College, University of Pittsburgh MBA, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. David was a licensed funeral director from 1965 until 1993. He was the longest serving faculty member at Thiel College, teaching hundreds of students. David was associated with Mercer County Historical Society for over 50 years, serving as president for many. He was a long-time trustee for the George W. Wright Student Loan Fund. David married his beloved wife, Ruth (Rishell) Miller on August 21, 1961, she survives at home. He is also survived by his children; Joy Miller of Las Cruces, NM, and Michael (Wendy) Miller of Cleveland, grandson; Adam Miller of Cleveland, siblings; Floyanne Hengerer of Rochester, NY and Rebecca Duff of Felton, PA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation & Funeral Center, Mercer & Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. A memorial service at Thiel College will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Passavant Center.
