Darlene M. Spilecki

Darlene M. Spilecki, 70, of Grove City, PA, passed away at QLS Grove City on April 3, 2025. Darlene was born on October 1, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Michael and Gladys Fromlak.

Darlene was a member of the Grove City VFW Post 519 and the 1895 Grove City FOE. She graduated from North Hills School District. She worked as an office manager in medical offices in Allegheny County for most of her working career. She enjoyed traveling, for she adventured to Key West, Mackinaw Island, and Alaska, as well as a camping trip to Georgia; but her most frequented and favorite vacation destination was Florida. She enjoyed the Wilson Park Camp Crawl with her friends. Darlene will be remembered for her witty sense of humor and sarcasm, as well as for how selfless and empathic she was. Darlene always cared for others. She loved her family and friends dearly.

Darlene is survived by her children, Tammy (Randy) Shoup and Stephen (Jodi) Schmidt; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Tyler, Stephanie, and Ava; her great-grandchildren, Navaeh, Kaeleigh, Sophia, and Keiera; her sister, Norma, and brothers, Bruce and Michael. She will also be missed by her beloved friend Terry Ruffo, her dear friend Sue Buchanan, her former partner John Spilecki, numerous nieces & nephews, and her cherished cat, Autumn. Darlene’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at QLS Grove City for the wonderful care she received while residing there.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her sister, Carol.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation and Funeral Center, Inc., 200 S Erie St, Mercer, PA, 16137. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be announced at a later date.
